About Chalkboard Love:
"Chalkboard Love started in February of 2013 when I was asked to make a gift for a teacher. I had the idea to make a Valentine hanger for her room or home but thought she might like to write little love notes for her daughters. I asked my husband, Brian, to cut it out for me...and while he was at it, would he mind cutting one for our door as well?
After hosting Bible study at our home, my friends just started ordering off our door. Then their friends and their friend's friends. Finally, I told Brian, 'We need to get serious about this.' Our facebook site was started and it has taken off. We've shipped all over the country and to Canada.
I've been an artist all my life and have loved doing door hangers in a unique way by integrating the chalkboard into the design."
Professional Artist Amy Wood Thomas has a Biblical Fine Art business as well. Her work can be seen on her website: www.amywoodthomas.com. After working for five years as a production artist, she has spent the last 13 years traveling to art festivals throughout the Midwest with her husband. Her pieces were featured at the 2013 Des Moines Home Show Expo and on Mollie Cooney's "In the Artist's Studio" on KCCI Channel 8.
Brian Thomas works in the finance industry. He is the meticulous and handy one of the family. Brian cuts out most of the door hangers himself and lugs everything around to shows.
Brian and Amy live in Urbandale, Iowa, with their three children, who also help with the door hangers. (The seven year old doesn't paint, but he can rub a sanding block like nobody's business.)
